Apex Legends Guides

Apex legends is a game of prestige as much as it is about movement, shooting, sliding, and overpriced skins. Hence, the immortal “importance” of having the 2 badges that “separate you from the crowd. The 4k / 20 bomb duo has been sought after since Apex’s inception and we’re here to tell you how to farm the 4k badge. The 20 bomb may seem very tough, and it is, but after 16 seasons… it is time to get it. Eventually.

We will cover several basics that you need to uphold to get this done. Yes, it is intimidating. Yes, it is scary. But, we’re here to tell you that it can be done. And YOU can do it!

Get the mental crap out of the way

Oh, that dreadful feeling of “I cannot do this. It is impossible!” We all felt it. It is inescapable. It may sound cringe and rather dumb but if you go into a match, hyped up to farm the 4k damage badge, only to insta-die to a 3rd party, yeah you’re gonna rage. Yeah, you’re gonna want to give up.

That’s what we’re fighting against here. If you get yourself into a state where you think “I can do this”, the actual, mechanical part which lets you do enough damage is (relatively) easy.

So, keep your chin up, don’t let yourself be pestered by “failed” attempts, and learn from your mistakes. We at Blazing have the most amazing coaches that can help you defeat this mentality. They can help you analyze your gameplay and your mental conditioning. Winning is only half the battle if you are already poised to win. It is a “champion in the making” mindset, and it can be taught!

Queue up for 2v2s

This one you may already know, but let’s mention it all the same. You will be fighting more people overall, which means:

  • More damage opportunities
  • Fewer chances of a 3v1
  • 2v1’s are easier if you know how to strategize

Hell, even if you solo queue, it is much easier to plan everything out and get a decent amount of damage to warm up. Keep in mind that getting the 4k isn’t a sprint – it is a marathon and having more bodies to “farm” is a much better prospect.

Know your strengths and never overcommit

It goes without saying that some mains and classes are better suited to farm a 4k badge than others. Snipers, for instance, gain a massive advantage. You get to do a fairly decent amount of damage while staying the F back. If you haven’t seen what the Charge Riffle can do, we want to introduce you to TSM Mande (griefing arguably the best players in the game):

As you can see, the Charge rifle is just insanely OP at farming damage. The fact that you press the thing onto a moving target and it just spews random crits is crazy.

This logic doesn’t apply only to snipers of course. Legends like Fuse or Rampart, have unique abilities that generate damage en masse. Fuse can farm damage with his ult and Q, even when he’s trying to heal somewhere. Rampart and her Ultimate Minigun can shred enemies and pump those numbers up.

It is all about knowing what to use to get the maximum out of your damage potential. Remember – we’re playing the long game here. Letting your enemies heal up and prolong the fight means more damage for you!

Know how to drop in a contested zone

Yeah, simple right? Just drop in and kill everyone. It is never that easy, is it? Well, you must think smartly about where you land. Sure you can try punching your way out, but how about choosing a spot where there are fewer people? Trying to 3rd or 4th party what’s already there?

Additionally, you should never underestimate the power of the “high ground.” Even in a 1v1 situation, farming damage isn’t about jumping on someone to quickly finish them. You should always position yourself to be LESS vulnerable. This means climbing up and using cover as much as possible. Without cover and a good vantage point, you might as well be 3rd party extravaganza.

Prepare and execute

This one’s really a no-brainer. You won’t be reading a “How to farm the 4k damage badge” guide if you were a movement/aim God, so we have to do things the harder way. Pick your landing zone and always look for ways to get the advantage.

Find your preferred weapon and try to 3rd party from a distance. This is the key – distance! Don’t get up too close since this is a recipe for a 3rd party disaster. Having a recon legend with you will help a lot. Try to utilize one (a friend or whoever it is that you play with) and he/she can help you be aware of your surroundings.

Practice

DUH!? At the firing range or whatever, learn your guns well. Which weapon does how much per clip. How about upgraded? How about being boosted by a certain power? These things may sound obvious but we bet that 80% of all players have no idea how much sustained fire from an R99 does to a red-armored target.

Welp, that’s the end to our “How to farm the 4k damage badge” guide. Do you have more tips on how to get to 4k faster? Share them with us in the comments!
